Daniel Carafelli

Professional-in-Residence

Daniel J. Carafelli, C.P.M., A.P.P., has worked in Maryland higher education for more than four decades. His finance, procurement, information technology, transportation, facilities development, and project management experience includes leadership positions with the Maryland Technology Enterprise Institute, Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute, University Facilities Management, and Department of Transportation Services at the University of Maryland, and the Office of Public Safety at Montgomery College. Dan holds the lifetime Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) and Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (A.P.P.) professional credentials from the Institute for Supply Management and has served as a senior research fellow in the University of Maryland’s Supply Chain Management Center. His supply management interests comprise emerging technologies, global supply chain strategies, and capital procurement best practices for aviation, transportation, and the built environment. Dan is a member of the Institute for Supply Management, the National Procurement Institute, and the Airport Procurement Group. He is a three-time graduate of the University of Maryland Global Campus with a B.S. in Business and Management, a B.S. in Computer Studies, and a Graduate Certificate in Financial Management.
